Reviews and Ratings
The hotel is located in a more rural area with a little garden, close to the airport without having to put up with plane noise. The rooms in the 2nd-row building further from the tavern were clean and modern, offering more sugar, coffee, etc. The service was really friendly, even accommodating a room change to a disabled one upon noticing my husband's disability. The dining experience was average, with desserts delivered to the room the night before. The facilities were adequate, with a bistro/gambling building seen on the premises.
Staying in the rooms at the back of the hotel was a peaceful experience, away from the tavern noise, and the private courtyard added a nice touch to the stay. The facilities onsite were excellent, even though we didn't ask for them upfront.
The hotel is situated a bit of a distance from town but is lovely next to the foreshore of the Derwent River with beautiful views back to Mt Wellington. It was quiet, great for easy airport access, and had a lovely outdoor sitting area. The rooms were a mix of full of flies and dead mosquitos one day but overall very clean, presentable, big, and comfy, although not serviced for one day due to poor weather. The service, while a bit of a shamuzzle, was lovely especially from Gemma who dealt with most problems. The hotel was accommodating with requests and inquiries. Dining was not available, disappointing, and directed to a place next door. The facilities were adequate. Without a doubt, I enjoyed the location and the overall cleanliness and comfort of the rooms.
